ANXIETY THERAPY

VIRTUAL THERAPY FOR ANXIETY ACROSS MISSOURI AND TEXAS

anxious, much?

Anxiety is a normal human emotion and experience. When appropriate, it helps to prepare us for the future and alert us when we’re in danger or something is off. For some of us though, anxiety doesn’t only show up when appropriate. It senses danger where there isn’t any, refuses to quiet down, and sticks its nose in where it doesn’t belong. This can be unsettling, disturbing, and sometimes debilitating. It can manifest in many ways for different people, including excessive rumination and worry, obsessive thoughts, physical sensations like a racing heart or nausea, difficulty sleeping, and a generally vague feeling that something is wrong.

HOW I CAN HELP

Therapy for anxiety can help you understand and manage your symptoms and find relief.

First things first - what is avoided cannot be dealt with. In therapy, I will help you to confront and address your anxiety head on. We’ll look into the common triggers, thought patterns, bodily sensations and other intel you have to illuminate the patterns of your anxious tendencies. From there we’ll work to transform your relationship to anxiety. We’ll find powerful ways for you to self-soothe, sort through the stories you tell yourself about yourself, and weed out the stuff that isn’t all that true or helpful.

Therapy can help you to tap into your innate strength and resilience, building self-trust - the ultimate antidote to anxiety. I like to offer a mix of practical tools for you to use outside of the therapy room, along with psychoeducation and most importantly attunement to your experience in session. I work with many clients who start therapy feeling anxious and insecure, and within a few months report feeling more relaxed and confident in themselves.
